BRIDAL FAQ

When should I schedule my preview?
A. We will reach out to you 4 months before your wedding day to book your preview. This is the perfect time to gather photos of your dress as well as hair and makeup inspo. If you are looking for more fullness and/or length we encourage you to have hair extensions to bring with you to the preview. It's also a good time to bring and hairpieces with you to see how the whole look comes together.

How long does the preview take?
A. We always want you to be able to plan your day accordingly. We book our previews for 1 and 1/2 hours.

Will I have the same person for the preview and the wedding?
A. OMG YES! Anyone who tells you they will send someone else, run for the hills! The importance of a trial is to build a relationship, trust and to calm your nerves. Two different artists may do a fantastic job, but no two are exactly alike, and you want to have confidence that the same person who nailed your preview will also be there to nail your wedding day look!

Where do previews take place?
A. We book our bridal previews in our Hoboken salon.

What should I wear to my preview?
A. You should wear white and if you can, wear something similar to the cut of your dress. Remember this is for your wedding preview, so it's a great time to try a spray tan to see how that glow looks. You can book with us or your favorite artist!

How do I secure your services for my wedding day?
A. We book on a first come/first serve basis. When you are serious about booking, we require a $300 non-refundable deposit and will send you the contract to review and a finalized breakdown to fill out.

Do you create a timeline for the big day?
A. The short answer, no. We are not fans of timelines, some guests we need less time some we need more, so we just ask that once someone is done in our chairs someone else is ready to go with her inspo pics. Also, if anyone in the "timeline" is running late or not available at their designated time slot, it usually takes a while before someone else steps in and takes the slot...which could push us back in our finish time.

Do you have a minimum or maximum for a wedding party?
A. We take all wedding party sizes! From just the bride to a large party of 16 (or more), no minimums here. If you already have one service (such as hair or makeup) booked with another vendor, we can do the other service no problem! For the most part we are extremely flexible with what we offer, because we know not all brides have the same needs.

Does my bridal party need professional hair & makeup done?
A. Hair and makeup are a great gift for your bridesmaids, sisters, mothers, etc. It allows all of you to be together, you will not have the unexpected hair and makeup disaster of the one bridesmaid who likes to wear loads of makeup, it allows everyone to look nice for pictures and it allows them to be pampered as well.

How much time does it take for each service?
A. Our brides usually take 60-75 minutes and are taken somewhere in the middle of everyone, so they aren't the first one done nor are they the last. Everyone else depending on the style will take 30-45 minutes. If anyone in the bridal party is adding extensions we will need additional time to style and place the extensions.

How should we prepare for hair and makeup?
A. In order for the day to run smoothly, everyone should have inspiration photos of hair & makeup ready to go by the time they are in our chairs. Everyone receiving hair services should have clean hair, washed and blown out smooth the night before NOT FLAT IRONED (this will make it hard to get any curls to stay). Should anyone arrive with damp hair, they must blow dry it smooth prior to their hair service. Should anyone arrive with hair that is not clean, we cannot guarantee that their look will hold nor can we guarantee that we can achieve their desired look. If anyone has extremely long and/or thick hair, or if they are planning on using extensions, please let us know ahead of time so that we can plan our timing accordingly. Everyone receiving makeup services should arrive with clean skin that is lightly moisturized and toned if possible. We will provide product information for the finalized look, but should the bride, or any member of the bridal party, request a specific brand, it must be provided at their own expense. Everyone should have their own lip color, this will also allow them to reapply the same color later in the night.

What should we wear on the big day?
A. It does make it easier for everyone to wear something with a zipper or buttons, so they don't disturb their hair or makeup when they get dressed. Clothing with high collars and hoods are not recommended, as they will rub the hair and cause hair to fall or frizz.

Do you travel out of the state?
A. Yes we do! As much as we love our New Jersey weddings we will travel across the country and even to another country for our ladies.

THINGS TO REMEMBER...
Your wedding day is the one day in your life that you will be photographed more than any other.
Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize up to that day! This includes your face and your lips. Your makeup will look so much better and will apply much easier. Exfoliating your skin a few times a week, a few weeks before the wedding will help your skin to look radiant.
Take care of your lips too so that you will have a smooth, soft looking lip. If you are having problems with them being overly chapped then apply Vaseline or Vicks VapoRub to a toothbrush to exfoliate them.
If you are waxing, please do it at least week in advance in case of a breakout. It is hard to cover hives and peeled off skin!
If you are receiving a facial, again, please do it at least a week in advance for the same reasons.
Tanning is ok. Do not over-tan yourself to where your makeup looks totally off. The more that you tan, the more shine you will produce in your pictures. Spray tanning is an awesome substitute! It's quick, easy and our artists are pretty awesome.
If you never wear makeup you can still have light makeup on that makes you look radiant.
Do not decide that you want to try a new product out in the days before your event. Try it out at least 2 weeks beforehand.
Let people take care of you for your special day. You have worked and stressed hard enough planning everything! Get pampered a little...it is worth it!
